IT'S A SIGN

Found this while cleaning out the file drawer. It's old, probably from the 70s, don't know who, why, or when, still it's a good one.

TUESDAY TIDBIT

Since Tuesday is almost over, should I really post a money saving tidbit? Okay, talked me into it, I will.

Couponing has become my part time job, since I can no longer work, it's pretty good and no taxes to pay.

Today was my errands day in the local bigger town, bigger than our small town but far from big, I digress.

I stopped at the RiteAid, hoping they would be carrying things our little store here does not, nope, they had been rearranged and lots of stuff deleted, too. Still, I was successful in my mission.

Total cereal was marked down to 2.41 per box, expiring 10/10, and the .75 off coupon worked, 1.66 for a bigger box than the one that I bought at WM for over 4.00. L'oreal Bare Natural mineral powder was originally 15.95, marked down to 3.81 on clearance with a 1.00 coupon, only 2.81. Breathe Right strips were on sale for 3.99 with a 1.50 off coupon, only 2.49.

So, you can see what the tip is, gooooo couponing! Hooray! Yes, coupons work on clearance items, too.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT

As my readers know, I am the blessed grandmom to one, dear, sweetheart of a little boy, Riley. He will be 18 months old in a few days. He is saying many words and will try to repeat just about any single word. He also has been saying my momma for many weeks now. Yes, he knows where his eyes, mouth, nose, ears, are, belly, too. He knows what a shoe is and can recognize the star shape.

By the way, have you been to the new Hardees? Stars everywhere! Riley was very interested in them and their biscuits.

When his Mom was expecting him, something very unusual happened. His Mom's favorite flowering bush is the Hydrangea. It is a beautiful shrub with beautiful large blooms. The shrub is planted outside the nursery window at the front of their house.

When Riley, little baby boy, was on the way, the shrub bloomed a beautiful baby blue.

Now, Little Sis is on the way and look what it is blooming this year:

Pretty amazing, don't you think? Bloomed blue for the baby boy and now blooming pink with the baby girl on her way.

Yes, its a rare and wonderful note to put in both of their baby books.

JUST TODAY

I'm home sick, not too bad, just coughing, and sinus yuck. Since there are many older people at our local church, I am very slow to go on days like this. I do not want to make any of them sick.

Our long time primary doc is out of the country on a missions trip, coming back on June 30. No doc is taking his calls, strange, I think. His office said to go to the local doc in a box store, wondering if I should go or is it just a waste of my money?

Do you watch Clark Howard? He is a pretty interesting fellow. He actually gives sympathy thoughts to people in trouble with their money or life situation. He apparently is a multimillionaire and could have retired at 31, impressive.

Today is a rambling post, not much direction, you can tell.

******UPDATE.....I'm sick as a dog...woof woof.

HUBBY TODAY

Hubby is out looking for something today, hope he finds it.

Me, doing the fun stuff, laundry, dishes, blogging.

The new camera is working very well so pictures of the long lost, forgotten, craft will be posted soon.

There is going to be a free coupon class at church this week, that will be on this blog, too.

The weather is just hot in Dixie so that will not be a focus. I will blog if it changes, doubtful then. We are having August in June this year. Hot, hot, and hotter.

Things need to be done around the house, de-junking things. Yes, I would post before and after pictures but honestly, it would only be embarrassing.

Hope you are having a good summer. Stop by anytime when you have time!

WHIRLWIND DAYS

My days, for the last week, have been like a whirlwind. Since I don't have a nice picture of a whirlwind, I will just use this one.

You get the idea. Been there, done that, right? Later.

FACEBOOK

Facebook is pretty amazing. I have been on it for many months now. Today is different. My Matron of Honor contacted me! We also graduated from High School together, years and years ago.

I do limit who I allow to be my friends. I do not want some people reading what I put on my page. It's my business, not their business so I nix them.

Anyway, it's a great way to start a busy week, catching up with her.

Are you on Facebook? It's not just for teens, anyone and everyone can join, even a business. You get your own page, be sure to limit the privacy section, then sit and wait to find some wonderful people from your past.

Fun, fun, fun.

It's on the world wide web, go there, sign up, it's free.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

My Father has been gone since 1979, only 55 at the time of death, died from a brain tumor. He was a good father. He did the best he could. I miss him.

The Hubbie is a wonderful Father and I appreciate his sensibility and level head.

He is the father of my three children, grown now. The years have gone by too fast for us both. Still we are celebrating another Fathers Day.

So, have a Happy One, Hubbie, you deserve it.

Here he is with our three children, 2009.

OLD CAMERA & MORE BIRTHDAY FUN

It's baaaaackkk....yep my new old Samsung digital camera has been returned once again. It's working, for how long, who knows, it is a mystery. Now I have two cameras. I'm keeping them both.

It's been a full, busy day but now, we are all resting. The GRAND baby is in bed for the night. We are watching Transformers on TV because we cannot remember it all, must have been a real impressive movie to not remember it.

Tomorrow is The Hubbie's 63 Happy Birthday. He has to work. I will freshen up the house after the rest of the family has departed. It's been fun.

Happy Birthday to our oldest Son, our Daughter in law and The Hubbie, all of our June birthdays. Thankful they are having birthdays and thankful we can celebrate a little bit together.

Life is good.

SUCCESS

The new camera is in hand, now to learn to use it. I am excited, glad too, for the two year service agreement, probably my favorite thing with all the problems I've had with other cameras.

Pictures to follow because the GRAND baby is coming for a few days.

No cell phone yet but one will come, soon.

It's hot and humid in Dixie today. The past two days we've had a wonderful, hard down pour with a cooling behind it. The Hubbie and I tried to mow the grass last night but had to stop because of the lightning.

I'm thankful that I can now mow the front yard, well, most of it, anyway. I can only do the level part and can no longer start the mower because of the limitations to my right arm. Still I am trying to get back some of the strength I have lost these last several years. Is that possible?

Once you don't use it, do you loose it, forever?

3 DAY POST & A HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Who in the world would have thought a post about a camera could be stretched to 3 days? HA HA Life as an empty nester is sure different from life with a house of kiddos.

Any how, I'm off to pick up the camera. Staples just called and said there was not one on the truck Monday, was one on the truck today, my name is on it and in the backroom. Great service, don't you agree?

Stuff to do...today is our first born Son's HAPPY BIRTHDAY. He is 39 years old today. We are so blessed by his presence in our lives! He is the son we always knew we would have, 39 years ago today at 7:01 AM, Darnell Army Hospital, Killeen, Texas, only $5.25 American dollars. What a bargain!

Love you Aaron, from the first time I laid eyes on you, all gooey and red, every day since, till the day I die and beyond, forever.

NO NO

No -- word from Staples about the camera being in the store, may have to make a run to the big D and check it out.

No -- time to blog, company coming. The GRAND baby and his relatives are coming, this is a joke, I know their names, really. I birthed one of them.

Have a great day, catch up later. We only do Hunt's in our house so....

CAMERA SHOPPING GOOD DEAL

I went camera shopping, after a doctor appointment. I found a good deal but the store was out, naturally. I left my phone number so the employee can call me when the truck arrives.

I found a camera at Staples that I think I am going to buy. I have the money from the other camera, returned to Kmart because of the static sound. So here is the deal.

It's a digital camera, on sale for $50 off, purchased at Staples, you get, after rebate, a free memory card, free carry case AND a 2 year service agreement. After all the hair pulling problems I've had with my last two cameras, the 2 year service agreement is a big, big plus.

Here is the kicker, I found the same camera on a wholesale store's website for $348.00. This camera is $179 with all the freebies, only $30 more than my refund cash.

I have multiple ink cartridges I am taking to the store to apply $3 per cartridge to the cost of the camera.

I'm excited and hoping there are several on the truck today so the employee calls me.

I LOVE A BARGAIN!!

Blogging is so much easier with a camera, another good reason to buy it.

I'm excited. I forgot to see if it does videos, that, may be a problem. We shall see.

Whoop Dee Doo

If I was paid by the hour for working on this free blog, I might have a cash stash.

As you can see, I am going with the new layout, pink, of course. Yes, I have washed the bunny slippers and will be posting a new picture when I get a camera. The blog will be new picture free, too, for that reason.

This is great fun but also takes up time. I think I like the set up but am open to changing it back, probably not, as long as it is free.

I just see it as a new adventure, a new time to blog and more free fun.

Here we go. Wheeeeee....

ZZZZZZ

What is more boring than shopping for a new camera online? Not much.

My new Sony digital camera started making a static sound so I took it back to the big K, Kmart. Since I had my receipt there was no problem, unlike trying to return something to the big W, yes with a receipt even.

My second Samsung camera was returned to the factory for a second time. I am hoping they will replace the lemon with a camera that actually works. In the meantime, I am camera-less, spellcheck tricker for sure.

Now, sitting in the big chair, I'm surfing the web looking for a camera, cheap. The ones I would like to have are hundreds of dollars, way too much for my checkbook. I keep buying inexpensive ones and keep getting in trouble.

Plus, my new Samsung phone had to be returned to AT&T. The youngest son was so caring that he put us on his account to help us cut back on our expenses, so sweet of him. My phone did not work, took it back, replaced the sim card, brought it home, worked for a few days, took it back, replaced with a completely new phone, brought it home, worked for a few days, took it back for good this time. I am also phone-less.

I think I'm having technology withdrawal, at my age, who knew?

SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES

This came to my email inbox so I'm sharing it. Enjoy and giggle cause I know you will.

AMAZING SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES:

1. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.

2. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE SINK.

3. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO
USE A TIMER.

4. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.

5. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH.

6. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

7. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

DAILY THOUGHT:

SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKY'S - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS.

WONDERING WAITING

Today is almost over so probably will not post tomorrow.

I am wondering something though.

How much gas would a person save if they turned off the car motor when waiting in line? Any line, not just one line.

Here are a few times:

Waiting at a very long red light, one that has 8 + different directions to travel. Why have the car running while waiting for your one time to go?

Waiting in line at Hardees for that breakfast biscuit. Yum.

Waiting in line at the bank.

Waiting for the funeral cars to pass.

Waiting for the school bus to empty, or fill, whichever the case might be.

Waiting to get your mail out of the mailbox if it is located by the street.

Waiting in line at the DQ.

Waiting for an accident to be cleared.

Of course there are times you do not want to turn off the motor because you might get run over, say at a toll booth.

Interesting, looks like I could have the motor off more than on, wonder how much that would save me in gas cash?

F....R....O....G

This is a copy of a sweet email, hope it brightens your day. Ribit, ribit.

> I was told a story about a lady in the hospital who was near death when an area Chaplain came to visit her. This Chaplain was a very young female with long blond hair. She listened to the lady who was ill and left her a small gift for comfort It was a tiny ceramic frog. The next day one of the people from the lady's church came to visit. The lady told her friend about the beautiful young Chaplain who had come to visit her. The friend was so impressed with the way the lady had improved and felt the need to talk to the young Chaplain. In her search to find the young gal, she was repeatedly reassured that the chaplains are never very young and that there was never a gal that fit the description given.

> Upon returning to the lady in the hospital, a visiting nurse entered the room and noticed the ceramic frog. The nurse made the comment 'I see you have a guardian angel with you..' As she held the little frog. We asked why she made the comment and we were informed that the frog stood for:
> (F) Forever (R) Rely (O) On (G) God

> To The World You Might Be One Person; But To One Person You Might Be the World.

> You have been Tagged by Froggy, which means you are a great friend!

> You will BE BLESSED For Years if you send this to 4 people or more. And if this is sent back to you then you know that you are a true friend.

IS THERE A DR IN THE HOUSE?

Well, not at the moment, but it's coming.

Our daughter has been accepted into the PhD program of a well known university. It is one of her life's goals.

Congratulations, Angela, you can do it!

SUMMER TIME SUMMER TIME

You can tell it's summer time.

Signs that it's summer in Dixie:

The city pool is open.

The mall is bustling with pre and now teens.

The line at ChikFilA is twice as long as normal.

The city ballpark is packed with kids, parents, cars parked on the grass.

The mercury is above 90 degrees, with the birds panting already because it's HOT.

There are kids everywhere in our little town, one pulled out in front of me on his bicycle, in traffic, so beware, show caution and keep your eyes opened for safety.

There are yard sales in every neighborhood on Friday and Saturday during summer.

Celebrate because before you know it, the old school supply list will be posted at the local Wal-Mart. The big yellow buses will be blocking traffic and life will be back to normal, for us, even though the kiddos will not be happy about it. School now goes for ten months out of the year.

Ahhh, the good old days!

BIRD FEEDER IDEA

Here is the money saving tip for Tuesday.

Do you have a birdfeeder? We do. I like having birds in our yard, minus their droppings, don't like poo, no way, no shape, no how. The food to keep it filled can be too much money. Then the idea came to me, birds like bread, keep the ends of a loaf of bread, chop up, put in the bird feeder for the birds.

I'm trying it. No wasted bread, no expensive birdseed to buy, still enjoy our feathered friends, that sounds like a plan.

Cheap, cheap, cheap, yes, bird humor for you and a pretty picture copied from the world wide web, free of course.
