Red Envelope Day Today 3/31/2009

Today is the Day!! It's Red Envelope Day.

Here is how it works....
Purchase or make one (or more) red envelope(s)
Address to President Barrack Obama, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20500
Flip the envelope and write on the back - This envelope represents ONE CHILD who died because of an ABORTION. It is empty because that life was taken and is now unable to be a part of our world.
Put the correct postage with return address so the Post Office will not have a reason to dispose of it (security)
Drop in mailbox

You have given a voice to those that never had a chance to speak...to love...to cry...to laugh...the unborn aborted children of the world.

My heart is sad for them all.

What is the saying? Evil prospers when good men do nothing? Paraphrased.

Saturday Life

Saturday is my favorite day of the week.
Although I am not working due to an on the job injury, I still feel like Saturday is my day off.

I don't sit on the couch watching TV all day but I do something fun. Sure, projects around the house can be called work but I prefer to look at them as fun.

Usually, it is something out of the ordinary everyday things like laundry, dish washing, cooking.

So, it's the way you look at things. It's the way you look at life. Maybe I should think everyday is Saturday. It would be fun. Maybe.

Mickey D Sweet Tea

I love sweet tea. McDonald's has some of the best and it is so cheap. Only $1.08 American dollars, tax included. But if I would give in to my love of sweet tea and buy only one of these per day for one year, the cost would be......

drum roll, please......

$674.48 American Dollars!!!!!!!!!

So, I won't.

Have a nice day.

Another day....

This is a very strange day for me. It seems the older I get, the more days run together.

When I was a child, it would take forever to get to Christmas. Now, I wonder why we even take the tree down, just throw a sheet over it.

When I was a child, Summer was a long time. We were released from school before Memorial Day and did not go back to school until after Labor Day. Now, school starts in August, earlier every year!!

When I was a child, I went to bed earlier and got up earlier. The days were longer. Now, I go to bed much later and get up at different times. The days are shorter in spite of 'day light savings time'.

Life is strange. It's too long. Then it's too short.

Since they are too short, I wonder why we only get one?

Peace

I follow a blog that is concerning some of the things going on in Iraq. It is very different from what we see and hear on the television, in the newspapers, and on some Internet sites.

I am so proud of our soldiers. They are ALL heroes in my book.

Someday, I hope they all are home safe and can sleep like this sweet baby boy.

It's knowing all is good in the world.

God Bless our Soldiers and their families!!!

Gray Rainy Day

It's interesting how the weather effects one's mood, isn't it?

Today, it is colder, rainy, and gray. I am feeling the same way.

It's pretty much a downer to not be able to get ahead in life. You can live your life clean, follow God, do right, don't cheat on taxes, don't do drugs, sacrifice and still end up with little in life.

Some days it's just hard to put one foot in front of the other even if it is wearing a pink bunny slipper.

Insanity Strikes in South Alabama

Yesterday a horrible thing happened in Alabama. A young man was fired from his job and went crazy, killing his mother, burning her house down, killing his grandparents, a young mother and her 3 month old baby, others.

In Germany, another young man killed several from his school.

What causes such insanity?

Anger, selfishness, stupidity, evil........

Just remember people kill people.

Living in the South

I was born in the South, have lived in the South most of my life and I love it.

True, it does get hot, but the mild temps year round are so worth it. I absolutely hate ice in the winter. I love snow, hate ice.

The birds are bigger in the South. I think that is because they arrive fat, ready for their long journey North. Then, towards Fall, they arrive back just in time to eat up all the bugs that have hatched over the hot months.

I know, I know, the Yankees won the war but in the long run, we got the best end of the deal because we get to live in Dixie!

So, if you ever think of moving South, feel free to do so but please leave your liberal politics up North. Those of us in the South love our country AMERICA, love our families, and we love our God.

Yeah, I'm bragging.
