I don't know how long it's been but I have been saving rewards from

The site offers free things for drinking Coke and other products. Finally, I saved enough points to get a set of pots and pans, free. Then, they were gone from the website so I found another set, smaller, but better for what I needed.

The pots and pans came yesterday, delivered with free shipping because it was a new offer from the company.

Free is always great. Free pots and pans, free shipping. I love a bargain.

Instead of pouting or ranting, I'm posting pics of my detoxing process. Oh, goodie.
Here is another session, start to end:
Notice the black flecks....heavy metals being removed from my body.
When the session was done, there were over 40 black flecks.
Yeah, I'm thinking GROSS, too.

Here is a easy, delicious cheesecake recipe.

Do you wonder why I am not posting pictures? I'm not making these goodies. I am pulling them out of my file of almost 44 years of treats. This recipe is so old that it was before there was a store brand of PB CC! Store brands will work, too, not sure there is a Thank You brand anymore so any sweet canned cherry pie filling will work.

Cherry Cheese Pie
8 oz Philadelphia Brand Cream Cheese
Small can of Eagle Brand milk
One lemon
One can "Thank You" Cherry Pie Filling

Mix cream cheese, Eagle Brand, and lemon, beat well.
Pour into graham cracker crust and top with cherries.

A twist on this recipe is to put the ingredients in cupcake papers.

You will need to put the papers in a cupcake pan to help hold the paper's shape, place one vanilla wafer cookie in the bottom of each paper. Spoon cream cheese mixture into each paper. Spoon on a cherrie or two, refrigerate. You will have individual treats that are just as delicious as the whole pie.

Since this blog deals with saving money alot, not totally, but alot, Southern talk, you know, here is a picture of how much toilet paper really costs us.
I thought it was a misprint so stepped down to take a picture of the cheaper brand. Here is the photo:
Depressing? If someone could come up with a cheaper substitue, they would make $$$.

Odds and ends going on around here, nothing bad, nothing life threatening, just everyday stuff.

The weather in Dixie is wonderful minus the pollen on the cars, porch, windows, no ice to scrape off.

I've had my detox #7, pics to follow, aren't you excited?

It's Sweet Saturday again. Here is a recipe that I found in my big gray notebook of recipes, written in my daughter's hand when she was a young girl:

Rocky Road Fudge
1/4 cup milk
1 package (11-1/2 ozs) milk chocolate chips
2 cups mini marshmellows
1/2 cup chopped nuts
dash of salt

1) Grease pan.
2) Heat milk and chips in saucepan over low heat until chips melt, stirring constantly.
3) Remove from heat. Stir in marshmellows, nuts and salt. (The marshmellows will make little lumps in the candy)
4) Spread candy in pan w/spatula. Refrigerate one hour or until firm.
5) Cut into 1 inch squares.

My mouth is watering. Why did I post this? I went back to WW last Tuesday. Yum yum. I have everything to make this, oh strong.....!

Friday is fun day so here's a fun fortune from a fortune cookie we had recently:

Turn your thoughts within, find yourself.

Well, yeah, who else is going to do this and who else will you find inside yourself?!

Today is St Patrick's Day, the day of green. If you don't wear green you are suppose to get pinched or kissed, oh boy did I not like St Pat's Day growing up!

I was thinking of the color green today. Here are a few thoughts:

I have a friend whose last name is Greene but she loves blue.
My DIL's favorite color is green.
Money is green, I like that green.
Grass is green.
Weeds are green.
Cabbage is green.
The Hubbie's eyes are green.
Kermit the frog is green, it's not easy being green.
Oscar the grouch is green, sorta.
Green light means go.
I don't like green because if I wear it, I look green.

I'm not a greenie (global warming/climate change follower) but today will be a nice green, color, day. Hope it is for you, too!

A long time friend passed away today.

He was a faithful servant, child of The King, promoted to Heaven, the home eternally.

No more pain, no more tears, no more crying ever again, Praises to The Great I Am.

You will be missed, Jerry.

The tip for today is find a Dollar Tree near you and shop.

I was on my way to the local mall for a meeting, broke a fingernail when I was at the dentist, so stopped in at the DT near the mall for clippers. The store is huge.

As I was standing in line waiting to make my one $1 purchase, I scanned the area visually. Here is what I saw:

New Testaments
party napkins
bunny ears
decorative flags
As Seen on TV gadgets
flower pots
balloons, filled already
bottled juices
baby items
thousands of items that would cost more than $1 at any other store

No coupons accepted, large sigh.

But.....I will be returning with dollars in hand. It's a buffet of savings!

Remember Shoney restaurants? This recipe is suppose to be their Strawberry Pie, not sure if it is but it's delicious anyway! EZ, too.

Strawberry Pie
Yield 2 pies

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 cups cold water
6 teaspoons Karo white/clear syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 small box strawberry jello
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
2 frozen pie crusts, regular not deep dish, baked

Combine first 5 ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil, cook until thick and clear.
Remove from heat and add powdered jello, stir till combined and jello is melted.
Arrange strawberries in baked pie crust.
Pour hot mixture over berries.
Chill and top with Cool Whip.

I add the Cool Whip after the hot mixture has cooled in the frig. You can add it by the spoon on each slice just before serving or cover each pie like frosting a cake. It's up to you, just make sure the Cool Whip is chilled to go along with the cold pie.

Happy Sweet Saturday!

As my readers know, my old body has been through the wringer these last almost four years. Everything medical that can be done to improve it has been done. I've accepted it and deal with the pain.

My Chiropractor is trying desperately to help me. He is a good one! There is a new service in their office that is helping many people, including me.

It is called Ion Cleanse Detox. The process is used to increase mental and physical energy, increases stamina while voiding the body of chemicals, pollution, radiation, synthetics, toxins and numerous amounts of foreign substance trapped in layers of the skin.

Reflexology teaches us that each foot is acutally an outlet through which the body attempts to cleanse or rid itself of heavy metal and toxic waste built up in numerous areas of the body. While using the Ion Cleanse, you will actually see the cleansing process as the water interacts with a compound electric current along with a magnetic field structure. This cleansing process attains the correct frequency required to restore cells to a healthy state, while releasing years of bonded waste. (quote)

Yes, I was a bit skeptical myself until I tried it. My first treatment, I had no camera, wish I had. My second treatment, I took a pic on my cell phone which is yet to be downloaded to my desktop. My third treatment, I had my camera. Here are the pics. Yes, more blogging to come about it all, now aren't you excited?

Check back, I will post more information and a link to my chiropractor's website.

Beginning of the process:
About 5 minutes into the process:
At the end of the 30 minute process:
The end, feet out:

This is a test.

Where is my Friday post?

Thursday, March 3, 2011

This day started before dawn, yep, way too early, woke up, couldn't go back to sleep, got up, been busy ever since. Nap, anyone? Maybe.

The to do list is pretty long so maybe it will be whittled down by a few points today.

It's Thursday already, another week almost gone. Life. Interesting.

Spring has sprung in Dixie, a beautiful, bright Spring.

A friend posted, Spring proves God is alive. I think he's right.
