Have you heard about this? It's available to anyone with Internet and can search a certain state. Type in the state website, scroll and find the unclaimed property graphic, click on it, type in your name. IF that state has money in your name, follow the instructions and claim it. It's a free service so do NOT buy a list or a book because that is a scam.
Several months ago, I found The Hubbie's name and my first name listed as having money in the state treasure that we did not know we had. I went thru the process and the check came. It was $381 and some pennies. No, it's not a million or two, which would have been wonderful, but it covered an unexpected extra expense we had while on vacation.
So, search every state you have resided in to date. Who knows? You may have unclaimed funds, too.
