90 years old

I never know what I am going to see at the grocery store.

Today was interesting.

I saw this elderly woman limping around doing her shopping. Well, actually shopping for a friend.

I stopped and asked he if she was having knee problems or back problems.

She said, lower back and that she had new knees in her eighties.

She then said I'm 90.

My mouth dropped open.

She was lovely.  She was dressed nicely in black slacks and red top.  Her hair was done and she was wearing full make up.

I felt like a ragamuffin.

She inspired me to not give up and work on how I see myself, dress myself and wear my makeup more.

She was lovely and I thought maybe, just maybe I might, just might, make it to 90 and still be doing my own grocery shopping.

We don't know how or when our time will be up but she was inspiring.

Yes, I was inspired in Kroger today.

Now, read the first line.

Life is good.

DEVALUED

So many things if life today are being devalued.

Here is a short but accurate list:

The moon landing....I worked for NASA at the time and saw the plans for all of it as well as the space station which was then called Central Space Lab.  It happened.

Anything and everything on TV.....nothing is real on it, you know.  Even the religious broadcasts that speak the truth that Christ is Lord of all....are tweaked, altered to fit the time space and are not full worship services.  Ever see announcements or offerings or invitations?

Our Country....America has been devalued around the world and back again!  Such a shame.

Life....do you realize that over 28 million babies have been lost to abortion?  Maybe, just maybe, that is the real reason for a labor shortage these days.  We've killed an entire generation of scientists, nurses, teachers, mommies, daddies.  Such heartbreak.

Money.....the thing that fixes life in so many ways....money...devalued now and inflation is on the rise.  Don't know about you but the things we buy like groceries, gas, the necessities, have all doubled.

And now....even Christmas is devalued.  It is no longer considered a time to worship and be with family.  One company even calls it the All-A-Days.  Hard to believe but it's true.

So, blogging world, I pause to take a minute on my little neglected blog to wish you all....

A

MERRY

CHRISTMAS!

GRACE AND PEACE TO ALL!

NOTHING STAYS THE SAME

 Well Hello Bogging World....

It's been a long time.

Lots of changes I see.

Time to learn the new tricks to the blogger trade.

This is actually my second post for today.

The first one vanished.

(ooops I found it and deleted it afterall)

Guess it wasn't that important.

I posted a picture of a modern living room that I saw in a magazine.

I like it.

Do you?

Some day if I have two windows in the living room I will use this as inspiration.

Blessings to you all!

DON'T BELIEVE IT

Recently and more in the past, I've read or heard that there are 5 stages of grief.

This is not true.

The actual five stages they are talking about are the stages one goes thru when confronted with a terminal illness or other catastrophic encounter.

Here they are:

The five stages, denialangerbargainingdepression and acceptance are a part of the framework that makes up our learning to live with the one we lost. They are tools to help us frame and identify what we may be feeling. But they are not stops on some linear timeline in grief.

Above is copied....

This is not copied:
Grief is individual.
Grief is unknown.
Grief does not follow the same path for every one.
Grief depends on the relationship while living.
Grief is not a list of stages.
Grief may last your entire life.
Grief changes and then changes back.

Don't expect grief to be something you can overcome.  It is a life long track.  There is hope.
Heaven is real.
Heaven is eternal.
Heaven is thru Jesus Christ.

Seek and ye shall find.
Grief will end when Heaven appears.

DUSTY RHODES

This famous old time wrestler is who our little dog is named after plus a dust mop.

Do you see a resemblance?

Dusty Roads, the dog, on the left and the dust mop on the right.

Hard to tell a difference.

HE took it ALL

This video thrills me every time I watch it....over and over and over.

It's that time of year again, to think about, all of it.

We deserve every step of the process....arrest, beating, ALL of it.

But HE took it ALL for the whole world for all of time.

Now, I understand more the pain that his mother, Mary, endured.

Sunday is coming.....copied from youtube.

THINKING

Several times over the years of being married to the same man for 52 almost years.  I would say....I've been thinking.

His response.....oh no, not again.

So, here I go again.

I've been thinking.

I am trying to figure out the years of my life that I have left/remaining.

No one knows how long that will be, of course.

But the kids are grown.

One has passed away.

What now?

I had dreams when I was young.

Now I am old and now those dreams are gone.

How does a person refocus and try to look forward as a senior citizen?

It doesn't seem as though there is much now.

My parents both died in their fifties.  I have outlived both of them.

I am a 44 year cancer survivor this year.

I am thankful to still be breathing.

So what now?

I am open to suggestions.

WHERE YA BEEN?

Blogging is an interesting hobby.

It takes you places you may not understand.

I, with all diligence, intended to plunge in with both feet and stick to it.

But, no, didn't happen.

Our oldest child, Aaron, died on March 6, 2016.

Yes, it is almost two years ago but how can that be?

He is missed every minute of every day.

Only if you have experienced child loss, can you understand the pain.

I've been in a deep hole of depression.

No desire to do, go, or accomplish any thing.

I'm not whining.  It's just what it is.

So, I went to my Doc.  He is sending me for a physical to see what all is up with me.

I appreciate him.

He doesn't just want to 'start throwing medicine' at me without checking me out first.

I hope it's good news.

Life is hard and anyone that says it is not.

Well they are just wrong.

CRAZINESS

Life is busy.

Life is crazy.

Some say that retirement is a slow time in life.

Don't believe it.

Well, I don't.

Where has 2018 gone?

The year truly has flashed by for us.

How about you?

Life is a vapor.

So is time.
